Based on the novel by Oliver Storz, Friedemann Fromm wrote and directed this story of coming of age in wartime — of friendship, guilt and the longing for love. The final year of the war and the immediate post-war period are experienced through the eyes of five 16-year-olds, an in-between generation that dreams of freedom and will not be spared the call to the front.
