Who would have thought it: a Bavarian becomes Stuttgart's most beloved Swabian! Andreas Klaue has pulled off this feat. And not just once — the actor has even been voted Stuttgart's audience favourite twice already. So it was almost self-evident that he is the perfect casting for a new staging of the comedy classic "Neurosen-Kavalier". Not only because the people of Stuttgart love Andreas Klaue, but also because this time the play is performed "in Swabian", and the Bavarian by birth has perfectly mastered the dialect over recent years. "At the start I was a little afraid and doubtful whether people would believe me as a Swabian. After all, I don't speak Swabian in everyday life." But director Stephan Bruckmeier was able to dispel those doubts quickly during rehearsals. And Andreas Klaue discovered that the dialect holds undreamt-of possibilities for performance. "The advantage of the dialect is that it gives you a character very quickly too. As an actor you can dive faster into a person's soul, because with the dialect a character is already there at once." Depressions, neuroses, psychoses and no end of fun: 30 years ago the "Neurosen-Kavalier" was premiered at the Komödie im Marquardt in Stuttgart and has been playing one success after another ever since. Now it delights audiences anew in a linguistically new version. Andreas Klaue loves the interplay with the audience, the feeling of being carried through the play by the spectators. "Many spectators have no idea what a great role they play for us. It is not just the applause but, above all, the way the audience goes along with it. And in Stuttgart that is simply magnificent." Anyone who, after the quiet days, fancies fun and the finest entertainment can still catch the comedy in Stuttgart until 15 January 2017!
