1990: Walter, known as „W" (Samuel Benito), Ben (Andrew Porfitz) and Nik (Simon Fabian), three 17-year-old nerds from the West German provinces, are convinced: „Nothing ever happens around here." Until a Cadillac carrying Black GIs from the nearby US base turns the corner and a hip-hop beat thumping out of the speakers changes their lives forever. The three want only one thing: to rap. Because their school English isn't enough for brilliant rhymes, they end up, by a roundabout route, with German rap and so find their own language. As they confront outdated traditions and long-kept family secrets, they come not only closer to themselves but, step by step, to the big stage too. And to girls like Sabine, played by our wonderful Charlotte Krause.
